Acceptable use policy

Build almost anything. There are six things Kitebot won't run, and every publish gets checked for them.

Effective [PLACEHOLDER: date]

Who this covers

This policy applies to every bot built or run on Kitebot, everything those bots send, and every broadcast. It's part of our terms of service. Telegram's Terms of Service and Bot Developer Terms apply too, and where they're stricter, follow them.

What you can't build

Kitebot won't run a bot that offers, promotes or helps with any of these:

Gambling
Betting, casinos, lotteries and paid games of chance, whether the stakes are money, Stars or crypto.
Adult content
Pornography, sexual services and sexually explicit material of any kind.
Piracy
Selling or sharing films, courses, software, music or other work you don't have the rights to.
Scams and phishing
Fake giveaways, investment schemes that promise returns, and anything that tricks people into handing over passwords, recovery phrases, card details or money.
Spam
Messages people didn't ask for, bought or scraped contact lists, and message floods meant to get around Telegram's limits.
Impersonation
Pretending to be another person, brand or organisation, including Telegram and Kitebot.

How we check

Every publish runs an automatic check on your bot's text and description. The check does one of three things:

  • Allows it. The publish goes through.
  • Flags it. The publish goes through, and we review the bot within 24 hours.
  • Blocks it. The publish stops and you see the reason.

Broadcasts get checked too. A Free bot's first broadcast to more than 500 people, and any broadcast ten times larger than the bot's usual volume, waits for us to review it before it sends.

If a bot breaks the rules

We can suspend a bot that breaks this policy. Suspension stops the bot and disconnects it from Telegram. You'll see "Suspended" in the app, with the reason and a way to appeal.

Report a bot

If you find a bot built on Kitebot that breaks this policy, write to [PLACEHOLDER: contact email] with the bot's username and what it did.
